“Get The Cup” sigue manteniendo esos pequeños arreglos modernos como podíamos apreciar en el primer corte “The Gift Of Life”.

Line-up : Zachary Stevens - Vocals Chris Caffery - Guitar, Vocals Al Pitrelli - Guitar, Vocals Jon Oliva - Keyboards, Vocals Johnny Lee Middleton - Bass, Vocals Jeff Plate - Drums _______________________________ The wake of Magellan is based on two real life events. The first occurred less than a year before this album was released when the captain of a freighter threw three Romanian stowaways overboard in the middle of the Atlantic. A fourth stowaway was saved by the courageous action of a deckhand, who risked his own life to protect the youth. The second event regarded the Irish reporter Veronica Guerin who died fighting the growth of the drug trade in her country. Her death may accomplish what she could not in life. These events are combined into the story of an old Spanish sailor, who has decided to end his life by sailing his small boat out into the Atlantic until it sinks. In his mind he has romanticized this decision as a glorious, Vikingesque way to die. When the ocean winds push him into a great storm, and he believes that his wish is about to be granted in a great dramatic fashion, he suddenly sees a man drowning in the ocean. In an instant he finds himself taking back every wish for death's embrace, and fights to save this soul. After many twists and turns, he is able to save the stowaway that had been thrown overboard. Returning to land, he now realizes that not only every life is precious but also every hour of that life

Schenker Barden Acoustic Project - Gipsy Lady [2009]

Review By classicrockrevisited: Michael Schenker has reunited with original MSG vocalist Gary Barden. After releasing one rocking CD, the duo have now released an acoustic project titled Gipsy Lady. Michael has released several acoustic, instrumental albums in the Thank You series. This is the first time he has allowed someone to put words to his acoustic renderings. Barden\'s voice is deep and hypnotic as the music contains both soothing acoustic meanderings and Medieval, eerie landscapes. Opening track \"Lost\" sets the tone for the entire performance. \"Dance Lady Gipsy\" could have been worked up with some lutes and flutes and confused with a Blackmore\'s Night track. \"Fight For Freedom\" probably could have been rocked up and saved for an electric guitar album. There is a very patriotic chorus that would be in the same category as Judas Priest\'s \"United\" if done with a full band. \"Hungry\" works the best on the album. This is a heartfelt ballad that shows the best that can be expected when this type of collaboration takes place. As interesting as the acoustic collaboration is, the best two tracks are the two instrumentals that Schenker includes, titled \"El Grande\" and \"The Journey.\" At the end of the day, this is a must own for Schenker nuts who have to have everything that he has ever made. Casual fans will also find it interesting. Barden shows a new side to his musical vocabulary and Michael is an amazing guitarist, acoustic or electric.
